On September 02, 2001 our first service was held outdoors on the lawn of Pastors Michael & Linda Anthony with approx 25 families in attendance. We remember the day as if it were yesterday. It was hot and everyone brought his or her own lawn chairs and umbrellas. As Pastor Anthony finished his sermon, we all seemed to look up in the sky and saw a heart-shaped cloud.
The very next week the ministry met at the Travelodge, now known as the Quality Inn, where we have been conducting Sunday worship services for the past four years.
Pastor Tom Francis of Brethren in Christ Church , Stowe , PA gave us a key and allowed us to hold monthly meetings, prayer and other special services at his church.
After while, Bible Study and New Members class had outgrown the basement at the pastors home. Our next move was renting space from the Ricketts Community Center of Pottstown. God continued to move in our midst and our membership count grew larger in number.
Pastors' Anthony spoke with spiritual mother, Pastor Jannie R. Brant of Church of the Living God, Pottstown , PA (also Pastor Linda's aunt and mentor). Our request was granted for us to use Church of the Living God for future Bible Studies and New Member's classes. In light of all the doors that opened up to our ministry, we still needed a permanent place of our own.
Soon after that, we acquired a place of our own called the Annex. We leased this space for two years and in May 2006 we purchased our new church home!
We're excited that our church is located within the Historic District of Pottstown. The church was built in the 1800's and is in mint condition. Architect Joseph M. Huston, designed the dome in our sanctuary. He is the same individual who designed the Capitol Dome in Harrisburg . In 1906 former president, Theodore Roosevelt, visited our church and dedicated a stained glass window in memory of our United States defenders for period 1861 - 1865.
Through our years of service, we have certainly seen lives transformed one at a time. We would like to thank all who have endured with us through our tent to tabernacle journey and look forward to the new things that will take place within our ministry. God Bless You.
